Educational Advice for Families Moving Abroad

This programme will help parents to answer the following questions:

• What educational options are likely to be available?

o What are the pros and cons of these options?

• How can we develop a workable educational plan for our family?
• How do we choose a homeschooling curriculum?
• How do we work out our children’s learning styles?
• How do we teach specific skills such as reading and writing?
• How can we prepare our children for the transitions they will make in leaving this culture and entering a new one?

 

 

Programme:

0930 - 1000  Arrival and coffee  

1000 - 1045  Education Options

1045 – 1130  Teaching and Learning Styles

1130 – 1215  Home School Curriculum  

1215 – 1300  How children learn

 

1300 – 1400   Lunch

 

1400 – 1445 Educational Planning (including Transitions)

1445 – 1530 Ongoing services / How to start to teach reading and writing

1530 – 1600 Plenary, close and afternoon tea.

 

 

There will be opportunity to

• Inspect curriculum
• Purchase relevant books
• Interact with the presenters

 

 

This will be held at Myton Church Centre, Myton Road, Warwick CV34 6PH.
